15.Jun.2010 Mondee – new branding for start-up

mondee_logo

Have just competed the branding for Mondee,  a start-up travel marketing business. The website is now under construction, but here’s a taster showing the logo. we had a lot of fun with the stationary, using die cutting for the central circle and different block colours for the rear of each item. Will get some photos up soon!

Epsom Goodwood and The Grand National

front cover of the Epsom Media Guide 2010

The 3 media guides were produced and delivered successfully this year, Epsom have changed their branding so the look is much sleeker, more glamorous. Goodwood were a new addition, I produced a fully designed guide for them compared with their simple word document from last year. Their look is very classic and simple.

19.Feb.2010 Mediawatch-UK

I’m very pleased to announce that I have been commissioned to rebrand Mediawatch-UK, the organisation set up by Mary Whitehouse no less. It has a new director in Vivienne Pattison, who is looking to refresh the brand with a more approachable and warmer identity. A really interesting project, again very different to the last two, and I’m looking forward to getting started.  Visit Mediawatch-UK to see how they look now.

Ruby Crush Live

As I was saying, every client requires a totally different approach. and so Julian Lamb, skull ring designer wanted something very different from Caroline Plaisted! Different audience, different business, and so the results are totally unique. I have no house style, but instead listen closely to each client and try and tease out a visual identity from our conversations. so, heres the new logo, and check out the site.

Caroline Plaisted Author

One of thcarolineplasited_logo-1e interesting things about being a freelancer is working with such a variety of clients. You never know who is going to call… So this week, I have finished two very different projects. The first to go live is Caroline Plaisted’s site. She is a children’s and teen author and despite being prolific and popular, had no site. We decided that rather than create a dry and standard bibiographic site, we’d make something more inspirational, talking about the process of writing, how to become an author and whilst not producing a blog or message board, encourage readers to write to Caroline and give their feedback and views on the books. Take a peak…

04.Dec.2009 Kleenex Cube – I was robbed

God knows why, but I decided to enter the competition to design a Kleenex Cube. I didn’t win. an the prize was an imac. I can only think that the snotty noses where a bit off brand, but I liked them….

snotty noses, perfect for a tissue box no?

100 journals project – cover design

I am contributing a cover design for the interesting international art project ‘1000 journals’

The project started in the states and has reached our shores, Kent even, so heres my cover (mutating to 100 Journals – presumably because england’s a bit smaller than the US?)

The journals will be displayed in the Herbert Read Gallery at UCA Canterbury in February 2010

18.Nov.2009 Maxi Swirly OTT Fonts

In the course of designing the new logo for Ruby Crush, we have discovered this interesting font site Letterhead Fonts.

All kinds of vintage style fonts, decorative swirls, art nouveau, victoriana, americana, if you like maximalism, this is the place for you. I would show one of their fonts here but I might get arrested…for the first time in my surfing history, I encountered a website that was effectively shut on the weekend. To buy a font you need to create an account, but the security is so tight, they insist on verifying this with a personal phonecall, and unlike myself, they don’t work weekends. Still a very sweet girl read me the riot act incase I was intending on iegally sharing my lovely new font – Fair enough really, but still, most unusual!

09.Nov.2009 Ruby Crush

FearneI’m really excited to be working with fantastic jewellery designer Julian Lamb, aka Ruby Crush.

He has worked with The Chapman Brothers, produced jewellery for Asprey’s and the ring pictured was commissioned by Ferne Cotton to celebrate her ascent of Killimanjaro. All this and no website to speak of? A travesty soon to be reversed…

02.Nov.2009 The First Post

er, aah, what to write?

Well, today is the first day of my advertising campaign, in the Wealden Times, followed swiftly by two weeks in the Wealden Ad, and a load of mailouts to selected businesses. (I’m putting that one off). So if you are here, it could be that the campaign is already working, hoorah and in that case you may be looking for some design or perhaps you are just nosey and might want something in the future. You may have already looked through my portfolio and be about to pick up the phone…

If not, then why not subscribe to this blog?  I won’t be writing everyday, probably not even weekly, just when a job is complete, or I’ve seen something worth talking about. So you wont get endless updates, but you will remember who to call when you do need some beautiful graphics, web design or branding!
